Pompano Beach continues to captivate visitors with its blend of historic charm and modern attractions. From a speakeasy housed in a century-old bank to waterfront Italian dining and acclaimed French pastries, here are the latest spots you won't want to miss.

The Vault

A Historic Speakeasy with a Storied Past

The exterior of The Vault, a two-story, two-toned grey corner building

Old Town Pompano Beach is buzzing with new energy, and the latest addition to its revitalization is The Vault—a swanky, 1920s-inspired speakeasy with a history as bold as its cocktails.

Housed in Pompano’s oldest commercial building, The Vault was once the State Bank of Pompano, which first opened its doors in 1922. Just two years later, it became the scene of a dramatic heist when the infamous Ashley Gang stormed in and made off with $5,000 in cash and $18,000 in securities. Fast forward 100 years, and this historic space has been reimagined as a must-visit destination for craft cocktails, creative bites, and a touch of old-school glamour.

The menu gives a playful nod to its Prohibition-era past with dishes like Bootlegger Mac & Cheese, King of the Glades Sandwich, and the Outlaw Chicken Bowl. And if you’re in the mood for a cocktail (or two), sip on a Flapper Fizz or Bees Knees—both inspired by classic speakeasy favorites.

But the experience doesn’t stop inside. Step out back and you’ll find Sidecar Alley Bar, an open-air, pet-friendly hangout set against a vibrant mural celebrating Pompano Beach’s history. Whether you’re here for the live music (Thursday–Sunday, except during Old Town Untapped and Old Town Backyard Jam) or just to soak in the atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy the city’s evolving Old Town district.

With places like The Vault bringing fresh energy to historic spaces, Pompano Beach is proving that the past and present can mix beautifully—especially when there’s a cocktail involved.

Amy’s French Bakery & Bistro

Gets National Recognition on Yelp

Four triangle-shaped slices of French toast layered on a plate topped with blue berries, raspberries, slivered almonds, powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup

Pompano Beach has officially landed on the national foodie map! Amy’s French Bakery & Bistro was just ranked #9 on Yelp’s 100 Top Places to Eat in 2025, making it one of only two restaurants in all of South Florida to make the list.

Located a little off the beaten path, this family-owned café isn’t in the heart of Pompano Beach’s tourist district, but it’s well worth the short detour. Run by Riviera-born owners Laurent and Sylvia Demoss, Amy’s offers an authentic taste of France in a cozy and welcoming setting.

Amy’s is best known for its all-day breakfast and scratch-made pastries, including flaky, buttery croissants, delicate crepes, and their famous pain grillé (French toast) drizzled with Nutella and topped with bananas. Yelpers can’t stop raving about the perfectly cooked omelets, and one even called it “the best breakfast I’ve ever had.”

Beyond breakfast, the bistro also serves up fresh salads and classic baguette sandwiches, perfect for a light yet satisfying lunch. Locals and visitors alike say it’s worth arriving early—there’s often a line, but the experience is well worth the wait.

For those looking to venture beyond the usual tourist spots, Amy’s French Bakery & Bistro is a must-visit for an unforgettable French-inspired meal.
