Discover Wahoo Bay in Pompano Beach

Wahoo Bay is a one-of-a-kind educational marine park that gives visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in South Florida’s vibrant marine world. This coastal gem offers not just an underwater adventure but also a closer look at innovative conservation efforts aimed at protecting and enhancing marine ecosystems.

What Makes Wahoo Bay Special?

Within Wahoo Bay, you’ll find an incredible 2,000 square feet of artificial reef surface—known as Seahives—spanning over 100 feet in length. These Seahives are more than just structures; they are the foundation for a thriving mini-marine ecosystem. By providing a habitat for a variety of marine species, the Seahives promote biodiversity and support the growth of a new and diverse underwater community.

What’s more, Seahives serve a dual purpose. As a shoreline protection system, they are designed to dissipate wave energy, helping safeguard coastlines from flooding and storm surges. It’s conservation and coastal protection working hand-in-hand!

Plan Your Visit to Wahoo Bay

Access to Wahoo Bay is tide-dependent to ensure the best snorkeling conditions. Public swims are scheduled during high tide in daylight hours. You can access Wahoo Bay by boat or at Roy L. Rogers Family Park. Parking at the park is very limited, so your best bet is to use the free Circuit shuttle or take the Water Taxi.

PLEASE NOTE: No lifeguard is present at Wahoo Bay. Please swim at your own risk.
