Pompano Beach Water Taxi Routes & Itineraries
In Pompano Beach, boating is more than a pastime; it’s a way of life. Skip the traffic and hop aboard the Pompano Beach Water Taxi, a stress-free and scenic way to explore the area. More than just transportation, it’s a boating experience that takes you through the area’s beautiful waterways, with knowledgeable captains who narrate the ride. They’ll often point out mansions, landmarks, and even pepper in some local history.
The best part? Riders can hop on and hop off at 12 different local stops, including waterfront restaurants. The route even continues south to Fort Lauderdale, where you can visit more popular eateries, shops, and attractions along the famed Intracoastal Waterway, extending your day’s adventures without ever getting back in the car.
The water taxi runs from 10 AM to 10 PM, with tickets ranging from $10 for kids (ages four and under ride free) to $30 for an all-day pass, which gives riders up to 12 hours for adventuring, shopping, and dining. A multi-day pass for $80 is excellent for extended stays. Check the water taxi Pompano Beach schedule and Boat Tracker for real-time boat information. Also, look for “Cruise and Save” partner discounts at restaurants and attractions, which can be redeemed by showing your water taxi ticket.
Settle in and enjoy the ride with a drink in hand, as beer, wine, sodas, and hard seltzers are available for purchase. Depending on how much time you have, we’ve created itineraries to maximize your time on the water and land.
1–3 Hours – Quick Cruises & Easy Stops

If you only have a few hours, you can still take the water taxi for a sightseeing ride. A round-trip ride (without getting off) throughout the Pompano Beach waterways takes around 2.5 hours.
For one stop with the most to do, hop off at the #P7 dock, a four-minute walk to The Fishing Village. Grab a quick bite or drink at toes-in-the-sand Lucky Fish Beach Bar & Grill, or refresh with a waffle cone topped with your favorite ice cream flavor at Kilwins.
Another quick-stop option is #P6 for the Sands Harbor Resort & Marina, which offers new spots to dine and drink along the Intracoastal. You could always take a ride share or the free Circuit back to your car.
3–5 Hours – Half-Day Adventures

If you have a half-day to spare, the water taxi is a relaxed and flexible way to sightsee, shop, and dine without a car. One option is to jump off at #P5 and see the Indian Mound Park, the only surviving Indian burial ground in Broward County. Then, have lunch at Deep Ocean Bar & Restaurant, a four-minute walk from the water taxi stop. Soak up the water views and enjoy fresh seafood like the catch of the day and tropical bites such as coconut shrimp and conch fritters.
Another alternative is to stop at #P7 for The Fishing Village, where you can walk the Fisher Family Pier to see what the anglers are catching and take a selfie with the pelicans. Dine at any of the popular waterfront restaurants like Beach House Pompano, or walk over to Baresco, a tropical Mexican eatery where the beach breeze is present. Do some shopping at Alvin’s Island or Island Water Sports, which caters to the sand and surf lifestyle.
All Day – Make the Most of the Water Taxi

If you’re up for a water adventure, make your way to stop #P11 for Wahoo Bay, an eco-friendly marine conservation area where you can snorkel. When you’re done exploring underwater, hang out in Roy L. Roger’s Family Park, a scenic park that overlooks the water and lighthouse, with a small playground for kids and convenient restroom facilities.
Hillsboro Lighthouse Museum & Gift Shop is also located within the park. While the lighthouse is only open for tours on certain dates each month (when you can climb to the top of the lighthouse), you can roam the waterfront property or shop the gift shop for local art and artisanal crafts.
If you prefer a full day with a mix of relaxation and adventure, start at High Life Parasail at the #P6 stop for a bird’s-eye view of Pompano Beach from a parasail. Then move on to #P7 to rent chairs on the beach, or let the kids play at the splash pad, and have lunch and dinner around The Fishing Village at places like high-end Oceanic at Pompano Beach Pier.
After 5 PM – Sunset Cruises & Nightlife

Fancy a sunset cruise when the water shimmers in the golden-hour light? Take advantage of the $15 evening ticket to cruise the waterways after 5 PM. You can use the water taxi to get to and from dinner, or simply enjoy a cocktail cruise with friends or family. One of the most popular stops is #P12, which takes guests to the Nauti Dawg, a chill, waterfront restaurant in Lighthouse Point that features live music and a killer happy hour.
Another place for nightlife and stunning panoramic water views is Pier6 Rooftop Lounge, at the #P7 Fishing Village stop, for coastal bites and creative cocktails. All of the fishing village’s restaurants are within walking distance, too.
There’s no better way to see Pompano Beach than by water, and the Water Taxi is both convenient and memorable. When you’re ready to ride, check the current schedule and buy tickets online or at the water taxi stops. Start planning a trip and carve out time for a ride to remember.
